As a WSSU student, you can quickly determine who your Academic Success Counselor is by using either the student Navigate app or through Banner RAMS online under "Who Is My Advisor." In addition, you can view a list of all ASC advisors - categorized by major below.

Your Academic Success
Winston-Salem State University takes a student-centered approach when it comes to assisting students with reaching their academic potential by assigning each of them to an Academic Success Counselor (ASC). The ASC becomes the student's first point of contact regarding all academic advising issues upon entering the university. The ASC is able to provide advice on choosing coursework and curriculum, which includes guiding each student through the timely completion of the General Education curriculum requirements of the university.
The mission of Advising Services is to advocate for, support, and empower students to persist and progress toward graduation through efficient, holistic, and appreciative advising. By creating an equitable environment for our diverse student population, we will promote the benefits and value of a liberal arts education, foster student development and success, and stimulate academic and career exploration. It is also our mission to collaborate with campus partners to ensure continuity of service and provide an excellent educational experience for our students.
