Vision and Mission
The vision of University Student Activities & Engagement is to become a leader at Winston-Salem State University in fostering the growth of students by offering innovative, cultural, educational, and social programming that will promote leadership development and civic involvement.
Our mission is to ensure that your college journey is enjoyable, thrilling, fulfilling, and captivating. University Student Activities & Engagement (USAE) offers a range of opportunities for you to participate in social groups, activities, community service, and events throughout the academic year.
USAE collaborates with the Student Government Association, Office of Greek Life, Campus Activities Board (CAB), the Campus Life Marketing Committee (CLMC) and Council of Presidents (COP), and over 70 student organizations to bring you:
- Student leadership programs
- Powerful lectures by world renowned speakers
- Extensive multicultural programming
- Homecoming, which can include celebrity concerts and comedy shows
- Hands-on student engagement opportunities
- Signature Programming ie. Student and Community Involvement Fair, Hazing Prevention Week, Return of the Ram, RAMFest, etc.
USAE values cultural diversity, respects your viewpoints, promotes the expression of your ideas, and endeavors to empower you as leaders both on campus and within the community.
Project GIVE (Getting Involved through Volunteer Experiences) is a volunteer service initiative that connects members of the WSSU community with non-profit organizations and their respective service programs.
