DPT Admissions
Thank you for your interest in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program offered by Winston-Salem State University. We are pleased that you are considering our program for your professional training! All instructions for submission and required application documentation, including prerequisite courses, can be found on the WSSU Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) page. Deadlines
- PTCAS Application Portal Opening Date: June 15, 2024
- Priority Application Deadline: January 2, 2025
- Final Application Deadline: May 1, 2025
Seats are offered on a rolling admissions basis. Applications received by January 2nd, 2025 will be reviewed for priority admissions and applications will continue to be reviewed until May 1st, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.
Before the Final Application Deadline, applicants must submit:
- Required information via PTCAS application
- Required $50 WSSU Supplemental Fee
- WSSU Graduate Admissions will email verified applicants with instructions on how to submit this supplemental fee
*A seat fee is required once you have been accepted into the program.

All supporting documents from PTCAS will be transferred to WSSU. A personal interview may be required for all competitive applicants.
WSSU Early Assurance Agreement
Earn your BS in Exercise Science from WSSU to get a leg up on the competition when you apply to the University's highly-competitive Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. WSSU's DPT program receives well over 600 applications for 28 seats in the program. The early assurance agreement is a significant advantage for WSSU undergraduates.

Information Sessions
Information Sessions will be held monthly to provide prospective students the opportunity to: visit with current faculty/students, learn more about the program requirements and curriculum, and participate in an informal Q&A session regarding the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
From July 2024 - April 2025, the WSSU Department of Physical Therapy will offer one Information Session during the 2nd week of each month, alternating between In-Person and Virtual (Zoom) formats.
