Campus Parking & Downtown Shuttle Schedule
Homecoming Campus Parking Updates
As we enter Homecoming, WSSU Parking Services would like to update the Ram Family about adjustments to parking lot use and road closures that will occur throughout November 3-9, 2024.
Sunday 11/3
- The following roads will be closed at 5:00PM for the Lighting of the Sign:
- Welcome Lane beginning at Carolina Hall and ending at Covington Residence Hall.
- There will be an increased number of Parking Services staff monitoring traffic on Cromartie Street to assist with parking directions.
Monday 11/4 – Tuesday 11/5
- Normal parking and traffic procedures. Vehicles without registered parking permits are subject to normal rules and regulations regarding parking on campus.
Wednesday 11/6:
- Open parking will begin at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 6th. All vehicles will be permitted to park in any open parking lot on campus, with the following EXCEPTIONS:
- Handicap and Reserved spaces
- Lot U (Restricted to permit holders parking)
- The following areas will need all vehicles removed by 11:59PM on Wednesday, November 6th. Vehicles not removed by this time are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
- Lot V
- Upper Gravel Lot (behind Pegram Residence Hall)
Thursday 11/7 - Saturday 11/9
- The following roads will be closed at 10:00AM on Thursday, November 7th and will reopen for normal traffic at 7:00AM on Sunday, November 10th:
- Rams Drive
- Flagpole Circle
- Rams Lane / Old Stadium Drive
- Success Way
- The following lots will be closed or restricted to event traffic:
- Lot V (closed)
- Lot U (restricted to permit holders parking)
- Diggs Gallery Lot (restricted to vendor parking ONLY)
- Upper Gravel Lot (restricted to vendor parking ONLY)
- There will be an increased number of Parking Services staff monitoring traffic in the following areas.
- Cromartie Street
- Reynolds Park Road Entrance
- Lowery Street
- Success Way Entrance
- Wilson Hall, Lots W and WG
- Rams Common Drive
SHUTTLE SERVICES
Monday 11/4 - Wednesday 11/6
- Campus shuttles will run on normal schedules and routes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
- There will be no adjustments to the shuttle servicing The Flats.
Thursday 11/7:
- An abbreviated campus shuttle loop will begin on Thursday, November 7th. The shuttles will run on a continuous looping schedule to shuttle stops at MLK at Success Way, MLK at KR Williams, Cromartie Street at Carolina Hall, Cromartie Street at Gaines Center, Anderson Center, and Bowman Gray Stadium.
Friday 11/8:
- On Friday, campus shuttles will run a continuous looping schedule from 7:00AM until 3:00PM to the Benton Convention Center. The pickup locations on the Benton Shuttle Loop are at the Anderson Center, MLK at Success Way, and MLK at K.R. Williams.
- Individuals directed to the VIP Benton Shuttle will be picked up in Lot F, behind Hauser Hall.
- The abbreviated campus shuttle loop will resume after 3:00PM.
Safe Ride
- Safe Ride services are available Sunday through Friday and will run normal schedule and routes. The direct shuttle contact for Safe Ride is 336-666-3588.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Campus will experience a high volume of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic during Homecoming.- Vehicles that are parked illegally will be towed by Quality Towing at the owner’s expense. This includes but is not limited to vehicles that are:
- Parked in reserved spaces
- Blocking fire lanes
- Blocking handicap access
- Blocking flow of traffic
- Parked in unauthorized/no-parking areas
- Open parking will begin at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 6th. Vehicles will be permitted to park in any open, non-restricted parking lot on campus, except for handicap and reserved spaces.
- Please follow the parking directions given by Parking Services staff.
Founder’s Day Events Homecoming Shuttle Schedule
The shuttle will operate every 30 minutes.
