Please bring your student RAMCard, a valid driver's license, your insurance information and we will fill your Rx while you wait!
Prescription Refills
To refill a prescription that was last filled at our pharmacy and that has valid refills remaining, you will need to provide the patients' name, date of birth, and name of medication and the prescription number (if you have it) . If you know you prescription number, request refills via the WSSU MobileRX phone app (Android or iPhone) or request refills online at the web page. You may click on the Pharmacy Refills Request Tab and or you can come to the pharmacy with your RAMCard I.D. and we will fill your prescription while you wait!
Transfer Prescriptions
If possible, please bring the old medication bottle(s) or label(s) to our pharmacy. The label lists necessary information, including the prescription number and contact information for the other pharmacy. You can also stop by our pharmacy and make your request. We will call your pharmacy to transfer and fill your prescription if refills remain.
Refills after Graduation
We cannot refill prescriptions after you have graduated from WSSU or until your student health insurance expires. If refills remain on your prescription after you have graduated, you may transfer that prescription to an outside pharmacy of your choice
Payment Options
There are charges for all items purchased at the pharmacy. Purchases can be paid in full at the time of your visit at the WSSU Wellness Center Check-In Counter by Credit/Debit, Cash, Flex Card or Apple Pay.
Most third party insurance plans are accepted. The first time a student purchases a prescription at our pharmacy, he or she will need to present a prescription insurance card. Be sure to bring it when visiting the health center. The cost of your prescription may be reimbursable through your insurance company. The cost of non-prescription or OTC medications are not reimbursable by any prescription insurance companies.
WSSU Students are not required to enroll in the University’s Student Blue Insurance Program. However, the university encourages students and their families to compare their existing plan to the student plan. Student health insurance must be activated in order to purchase prescriptions. At the beginning of each semester, students are urged to go online or to call Student Blue to reactivate their insurance to avoid prescription insurance issues.
In most cases, students and their families find that the student health plan costs less and provides more convenient and comprehensive coverage than their current health plan. Your prescription co-pay will always be $15.00 dollars for any drug unless the price is less than $15.00 dollars, then you pay that price as the co-pay. If the prescription price is $15.00 dollars or more, the co-pay will always be $15.00 (i.e., if the prescription price is $350.00 dollars, the co-pay is still $15.00, brand or generic)
We will fill prescriptions for all summer school students. Students who are not enrolled in the summer semester, but have completed the previous spring semester and have classes scheduled for the fall semester are eligible to fill or refill their prescriptions during the summer.
