Tuesday & Wednesday (by appointment only)
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Special times have been set aside for immunizations and injections which will be administered only during the designated times. Injections include birth control shots, allergy injections and all vaccines/immunizations.
- Students MUST bring RAMCard & Insurance card to the health center to obtain injections.
- Students MUST be prepared to stay at least 10 minutes post injection for observation.
Cost
Fees are associated to each vaccine administered. In addition to the vaccine dosage fees, there is a $20 Injection fee (per visit), and a $30 Allergy Injection Fee (per semester). Types of Vaccines and associated number of doses provided are indicated below. Please contact the University Wellness Center for specific costs.
- Gardasil (HPV) - 3 dose series
- Hepatitis B - 3 dose series
- Influenza - 1 dose
- Meningococcal - 1 dose
- *TB Skin Test (PPD) replaced by Quantiferon Blood Test - annually - Filed by insurance
- MMR - 1 or 2 doses
- Td/Tdap - 1 dose
- Hepatitis A - 2 dose
- Varicella Vaccine - 1 dose/2 dose series
- Meningitis
History and Medical Immunization Requirements
North Carolina requires official proof of immunizations when attending college in the state. Detailed instructions can be found here.
All students taking more than 4 credit hours and/or living on campus are required to upload a copy of their immunization record to the Medicat Portal. Immunizations are not automatically submitted to Student Health Services from transferring institutions. Students must upload this information directly to the secure portal to avoid delays.

Tuberculosis Test Information
Health Services is offering the Quantiferon TB Gold (Blood Test) to determine the presence of Tuberculosis. This test has been recommended by Center for Disease Control (CDC) as being a more accurate test for tuberculosis screening. The IPPD skin test will no longer be used for routine tuberculosis screening at the Student Health Services.

School nurses have joined together as Voices of Meningitis to reach parents with an important message: although rare, meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that includes meningitis (the inflammation of the protective layer surrounding the brain and spinal cord) and septicemia (blood poisoning) which can potentially cause death or disability of an otherwise healthy teen within just 1 day.
