Virtual Employer Relations
Thank you for your continued interest in the recruitment of our students and your commitment to Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). Please review the following IMPORTANT INFORMATION as it pertains to your recruiting at WSSU:
CHANGE IN OPERATIONS / CONNECT WITH US
Career Services will operate virtually until further notice. Hours of operation remain 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The best method of communication is email, as our staff is teleworking during this time. Staff will reach back out via email or Zoom notification for a phone or video conference. General questions may be emailed to careersvcs@wssu.edu. Please contact Marvina Hamilton, Employer Relations Coordinator, at hamiltonml@wssu.edu or LaMonica Sloan Wilhelmi, Executive Director of Career Education and Professional Partnerships, at sloanl@wssu.edu to discuss strategies to virtually connect with our students.
EMPLOYER SERVICES
All services are now virtual. There will be no on-campus events until further notice. Employers may continue to utilize our free online portal, CAREERlink, to request dates to host virtual interviews, meetups/ information sessions and post career opportunities.
At this time, we do not have a timeline of when on-campus events will resume. However, you visit the university coronavirus updates page to stay abreast of university updates. As soon as we receive information regarding how we will move forward, we will inform you to allow you to plan accordingly for the fall. Keep in mind that under normal circumstances, submissions for fall events are not approved until late August, after university census. This may also be impacted.
CAREERLINK
CAREERlink is free to employers and allows the contact person to request On-campus Recruiting (OCR) and Non-OCR activities. OCR activities include on-campus interviews and employer meetups (i.e., career fairs, information sessions, town halls, lobby days, coffee chats, campus visits, and faculty/staff meetings). Non-OCR activities include job postings and resume referrals.
FALL 2020 CAREER EXPO
The Fall 2020 Career Expo is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2020. The Career Expo is open to all majors and classifications.
Further details regarding whether the Career Expo will be held on-campus or in a virtual format, as well as registration information, will be provided as soon as possible.
If you have any additional employer engagement questions or concerns, please communicate with an office contact
