Graduation

This class was unique as it was the class that felt the disruptions of the global pandemic as students transitioned from high school graduates to college freshmen. Their high school graduations were mostly likely in person and college orientations were shackled by social distancing.

Several students from Winston-Salem State University’s Sport Management program walked across the stage at commencement on May 10, 2024. Here are some success stories of these impressive scholars. 

Winston-Salem State University offers an excellent Sport Management program that prepares our students for dynamic careers in the sports industry. WSSU is the first and only HBCU to receive accreditation from the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).

While at WSSU, Ananye Fontaine was involved in the National Council of Negro Women, first as a mentee then as a mentor. She was a resident advisor for two academic school years; and was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Honors society.

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) will celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2023 at a Commencement Ceremony at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial (LJVM) Coliseum on Friday, May 12.

Winston-Salem State University will host five commencement ceremonies over two days, beginning Thursday, May 20, and concluding on Friday, May 21. Notably, an additional ceremony has been added to recognize 2020 graduates. In-person ceremonies will be held on WSSU’s main campus at the Intramural Practice Field.

While the global pandemic shaped the Class of 2021’s final year on campus, these graduates are #RamStrong activists, advocates, artists, and athletes who are prepared to take on whatever challenges they may face in the future.

Alexis McCrea ‘17 will make history as the first WSSU student to earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree through the Early Assurance Program.  

Three single mothers from Salisbury have overcome the odds, earning their bachelor’s degrees, together.

WSSU recognized more than 1,200 graduates, students who earned their degrees in summer and fall of 2017 and spring 2018.

Meet the WSSU Division of Nursing’s first cohort of doctors. These 11 nurse scholars have earned their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and will receive their hoods during the 2018 Commencement Ceremony on May 18.
