Associate vice chancellor for financial planning and budget named
After an extensive search, Wilbourne Rusere has been named associate vice chancellor for financial planning and budget effective May 1, 2018.
Rusere will have administrative oversight for Financial Planning and Budget, Business and Auxiliary Services, and Environmental Health and Safety. In this role, he will provide leadership, guidance of financial planning and operational analysis for the university. Since 2009, Rusere served as director of budget and analysis at WSSU responsible for the preparation and management of the university’s operating budget of more than $120 million.
“We’re very happy to have someone of his exceptional professional skills, experience and talents to assist in leading the university in these strategic areas,” said Constance Mallette, vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer for WSSU.
With more than 25 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and budgeting, Rusere has been at WSSU since 2004. He previously served as a budget analyst in the offices of marketing and communications, and budget and analysis. Prior to WSSU, he held various progressive roles in the banking industry for more than 13 years.
Rusere holds a bachelor’s degree in business/accounting, and a master’s degree in accounting.
