If you have a conferred bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited university or college and are interested in pursuing a nursing career, WSSU's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) option may be for you!

The ABSN is a full-time plan of study, providing an opportunity to complete in 15 months. Students are highly encouraged not to work during their matriculation in the program. The rigorous option offers every opportunity to engage in practical clinical and interprofessional and collaborative experiences. The ABSN follows the same plan of study as the Traditional path, but in a 15-month timeframe.

Application for Accelerated BSN Spring 2025 enrollment is now open through Sept. 1, 2024.

Interested individuals must complete all admission criteria and nursing pre-requisite courses, except for NUR 2313 - Introduction to Professional Nursing, prior to applying to the nursing program. Pre-requisite courses can be completed through any accredited community college, college, or university and transferred to meet university degree requirements.

For ABSN application instructions, please visit the BSN Holistic Admission page.

Students with diverse backgrounds will gain a broad knowledge base and skills necessary to grow into nurses who are safe, competent, critical thinkers prepared to meet the constantly evolving health needs of the community.

This program is great because we explore different areas such as pediatrics, mental health, public health, and maternal and newborn care. I feel prepared to take on any field of nursing. I also love the family environment and that we all have each other’s backs.
