COVID-19 Communication sent to Non Second Floor Residents of Brown Hall
A potential COVID-19 exposure has been identified in Brown Residence Hall. The University is taking precautionary steps to prevent possible further transmission of COVID-19 and will have all students residing on the second floor undergo COVID-19 testing. Student Health Services will be at the residence hall on September 15, 2020, at 9 a.m. to begin testing of that specific floor.
If you are concerned you may have had exposure via close contact to someone on the second floor, you can make an appointment at Student Health Services to be tested, 336-750-3301. This test will be free of charge.
Due to this potential exposure, the university will focus on increasing the cleaning of common areas and high-touch surfaces. Additionally, the second floor of Brown Residence Hall will be quarantining until September 22. More quarantine may be necessary for those residents dependent upon test results.
At this time, the remaining floors will not need to quarantine. However, quarantine may be extended to other floors as needed in the interest of campus health and wellness. Further, there should be no visitation to the second floor, and outside visitation is still prohibited.
