Statement from WSSU Police: Homecoming Safety
Dear WSSU Campus Community,
We are all looking forward to the Winston-Salem State University Forever Red 2018 Homecoming festivities. During the week of October 14-21, the WSSU
Chancellor Elwood L. Robinson and WSSU Police and Public Safety want to ensure that Homecoming is a safe experience for everyone. Here are some things to consider during your time at Homecoming events.
Use the online campus map to plan your routes and parking ahead of time: Click on “Layers and Features” on the bottom left of the screen to find information about parking and Emergency Call Boxes.
Be safe when walking: There will be more motor traffic than usual. Be extra alert when crossing streets, especially Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Please use pedestrian crosswalks at all times.
Play it safe when driving: Please obey all speed limits and traffic directives. Obey barrier restrictions and park only in authorized parking areas. Safety officers and staff will be available to direct you to
Pay attention to your surroundings: Be alert and attentive throughout all activities. If you see suspicious activities or unattended packages, please call WSSU Police at 336-750-2911.
Call for help if you need it: WSSU Campus Police will be present at all large events. We are here for you, so please reach out to us if you need us.
