Statement from WSSU Police: Homecoming Safety
Dear WSSU Campus Community,
The Winston-Salem State University community is looking forward to Homecoming 2017. We hope that you will join us from October 22-October 28 for the fun, friendship, and festivities.
Chancellor Robinson and his leadership team invite you to take advantage of the events, performances, celebrations, parties, parades, tailgating, and football throughout the week. For a list of all the Homecoming events visit: www.wssu.edu/homecoming.
The Chancellor and Campus Police and Public Safety want to ensure that Homecoming is a safe experience for everyone. Here are some things to consider during your time at Homecoming events.
Use the online campus map to plan your routes and parking ahead of time: Click on “Layers and Features” on the bottom left of the screen to find information about parking and Emergency Call Boxes.
Be safe when walking: Be alert and aware when crossing streets, especially Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Please use pedestrian crosswalks at all times.
Be safe when driving: Please obey all speed limits and traffic directives. Obey barrier restrictions and park only in authorized parking areas. Safety officers and staff will be available to direct you to parking.
Be alert to your surroundings: Be alert and attentive throughout all activities. If you see suspicious activities or unattended packages, please call WSSU Campus Police at 336-750-2911.
